    PHP and Oracle

Okay here is my problem. I have a oracle database that has all my customer info. Is there a way to connect to this database and create an add, update, search, delete, via a website? I don't want to convert the database over to MYSQL. I am using Dreamweaver MX. Thanx

I'm not really that much of a programmer like most of you. I usually use Dreamweaver MX to do most of my coding. Is there any tutorials you guys might know of that might be a bit easier to understand. I know I have to modify my php set up for it to work with oracle. I am running php 4.2.

I have a linux server (SUSE) that has my oracle 8i database.
I have a linux server (Redhat 9) that is running my webserver, Apache.
    server model: php/oracle
I am using Dreamweaver MX to do my web development. now, knowing these things what do I do next interms of set to get a connection to the oracle database. Thanx for you input.

I have tried everything possible to connect to a oracle. I just cann't get it to connect. I think that My php configuratios are wrong. Here is error I get.

"Unable to load dynamic library ' ./php_oci8.dll" - The specified module could not be found.

"Unable to load dynamic library ' ./php_orcale.dll" - The specified module could not be found.

    What does that mean?

That it can't find those .dll files. In your php.ini there's a setting that sets the path for the extensions directory which should have come with your php package. Simply point the setting to that directory and if you have those .dll files in there, it should work

On your windows OS, it'll be found c:/php/extensions, for linux I have no idea where it'll be as I couldn't find anything like that when I had mandrake.

I looked in C:/php/ I don't even have extentions directory. When I installed php I used the win installer version. i don't think it installed any extentions. Should I uninstall PHP and reinstall it. If so, what do i need to download to get oracle support?

Ahh ok. No, no need to uninstall it or anything. Download the zip file with everything included, it's just above the wininstall link on php.net. Then simply unzip it to your c:/php directory and that *should* then work. If not, you'll prolly need to manually install it, which doesn't take long at all, 10 mins at the most.
