Blog/Recent Post Integration into Existing Website

Does anyone know if it's possible to integrate a blog into an existing website?
And, if yes, what's the best one to use?

I'm finishing a website for a local nightclub. Having them use an entire CMS for their site is just not cost-effective, nor will all of the features ever be utilized by them. We've talked it over and they basically want a way to post ads for upcoming events and specials, and then have the newest 3-4 posts show on their home page.

Each ad on the home page must at the very least show the image ad for whatever it is they've posted. Read more can exist if there's more text to read.

Any ideas, as I've never done anything like this before?

Why not try Wordpress? I see a lot of folks build entire websites based on it.

I have built websites using wordpress, but I'm not 100% mastered on arranging the interface to suit my needs. I'm like an intermediate level. Instead I want to hand code the site, and then plug-in the blog part into the site.

Ok. Will do. I'll be back if I have any problems.
