    Cool PHP and MySQL Coding

    Hi All,

I am so totally new to all of this and would really like some help if possible

I would like my website to be able to read one specific field from my MySQL database and display the result on the site.

I have an education and training centre, and I would like the users to input their identity numbers and the results (either pass or fail) to be displayed.

You have to "connect" to the database, so you need to know the MySQL account info.
Then, you need to know the table name and column names.
And of course, you need to be able to put PHP scripts on the website itself.

You can PM me if you want specific scripting examples using your real account info.
Don't post any account info on here ... only the table and column names.

    EDIT,
    one more thing ...
If the "identity numbers" are similar, you need to have them
enter something else, such as email address. Otherwise, someone
can just randomly enter numbers until they get some result.
There has to be some level of security here.

I agree with mlseim, there should always be a minimum of two fields. Then verify both of them in the same query.
