Is it possible to code a php script that updates my tour dates from one location

Hello my I am brand new to this site and PHP but not xhtml and css. So thank you in advance for your thoughts.

Last year I built my new site from scratch using notepad++ and I am happy with the result, however this year I would like try and quicken my workflow with my updates.

Currently I update my touring schedule on my homepage in notepad++, copy the code and then paste it in to all my webpages. This is a painfully and I'm sure needless operation. I'm hoping PHP will be the answer.

My question is, can I change the ext to my pages to .php and then make one page that just holds my tour dates code, update that and through that process update the tour dates on all the other pages by them calling to it? If I can, how difficult would this project be for someone with my level?

Keep in mind please that I have never coded php, however I have sifted through code to change things and also get the over all process.

If you would like to look at my page for a better idea of what I'm talking about, it is www dot lonniebruhn dot com.

Thanks again for any help you can give me

Yeah, you can definitely do this. From my stand point it is quite easy for a semi-experienced coder. For a straight up beginner you will need to really get to know php before starting something like this.

Okay so diving into a learning project is more than I can put on my plate, so the next question is, What would be the cost to outsource the job. A rough estimate anyway?

thanks for the quick reply btw

Blacksheep, do you use some sort of cms? Word press or likewise? If not, I would say it would take about $300-$500+ if you wanted more features. Your project would require an admin panel with a CRUD (Create, Read, Update, and Delete) feature that would allow you the freedom you seek with your tour dates.

Chris, No, I do not currently use a cms. It is static. Also it could be crude, in fact I'm not even needing a dashboard really. Just the ability to go into one page that updates all, and maybe even a page that updates my news info without being cluttered with the rest of the code around it.

Converting my website into a wp theme though, well that would be really nice

Well, an admin panel would be your best option, honestly. The right developer could really make it easy to do on your side of things where you can just type and click, and bam its updated on your page. Do you have access to a database and such with your host?

Oh yeah for sure, I have Mysql and I even have a wp blog set up already attached to the site. The downside is that it does fit my current design.
