    funtion to activate another php script while running..

    I have a script that runs for a few mins gathering information..

    is there a funtion i can use while the script is running to activate another script on the same hosting server?

    Does the 2nd script have anything to do with the 1st script? Or are you generally asking if two scripts can run simultaneously? Your question is a bit too vague to answer.

    Depends on what you need to do with it.
    If you want to run it as a new process, you can do so with using webservices or curl. If you want to make use of this as a part of your current running script, you can do so using include/require.
    Other options depending on your server / privilege include things like exec and system calls to execute a script in the background. Socketing could be a solution as well.

    So, it really comes down to what the secondary scripts purpose is in relation to the primary script.
