Building a PHP Application from scratch.

Hi all, I just wanted to know how you go about building a php app? Well more, how do you go about planning one? I have always just stared coding but I tend to find that doesn’t work to well as I get tied down debugging very early on in its development.
So how do you do it?

Are you interested in how it's really done or how it's ideally done? It's probably better to start with the latter, anyway. Google for something like "software development process" to get different ideas. Here's one link. In short, in the ideal case, you should know exactly what you're going to build before you ever start to build it.

I agree with tomws you do need to know what your doing before jumpping in and writing codes, and if your going to use a database I would suggest doing and entity diagram before making anything in the database. heres a link to an image that shows an entity diagram:- image
