    Question - League table system

Hi. I'm nearly finished putting together a website for a sports club, and was wondering if anyone had put together a system for updating league tables? I wouldn't know how to go about it, but is it at all possible to maybe list the fixtures, and then put the scores in at a later date? Then these scores would update the database and the subsequent league table. This is a little bit more complex, as there is 2 types of scores, "goals" which are worth 3 points, and "points" which are worth one point. I am looking to set up so that the system can calculate the match winner, and therefore add 2 points to them in the league, and 1 point if the scores are level.

    Describe your database ...
What are the various field (variable) names you are using, and what size and types are they?
To give any examples, we need to know the names of your MySQL tables, and the names of the fields (or variables as some might call them).

All of what you describe involves querying your database, and doing various updates to it.

Are you using some sort of pre-made PHP script for the website, or is this something
you made-up yourself? And is there an admin control panel for someone to log-in and
update the database? So many questions ... and not enough information.
