    Lightbulb Index page

Hi guys came trough long search to right place as I'm newbie in php and was wondering if some one could guide me to these question.

already designed a site with couple of pages for learning purpose which contains these folders and files in it.

    INCLUDE
    connection.php
    initialize.php
    ....
    PUBLIC
    index.php

    ADMIN (page1.php.....page2.php........page3.php)
    JS (file1.js.....file2.js)
    IMAGES (image1.gif.......image2.gif)
    STYLE (style.css)

    QUESTION.
    1. Where do I have to put .htaccess file for security and SEU URLs'
    2. What step I have to take to prevent people to reach/copy my codes
    and make site secure.
    3. Platform of designing is (PHP 5.3, Apache 2.2.1.1, MySQL 5.1 CentOS)

As I'm planing to have Virtual Private Server (VPS) with some host site.

I would highly appreciate an early reply from you guys.

    Thanks in advance.

    1. Httaccess file goes in root directory.

2.Unless a user gets access to your cpanel username and password they shouldnt gain access to your codes .

PHP is executed on the server side and as such your PHP code isn't sent to the user, they get the page after it has been executed.
