    Calling Functions Between Two Scripts

    I'm going back through all my coding and trying to go about things in a different way. The following is my backstage.php file (my main file) for my custom CMS script. Each of the links at at the bottom of this script are functions on my backstagefunctions.php file. I want to know how to I call them properly because I don't believe I have it properly.

    PHP Code:
    <?php

    require "backstageconfig.php";
    require
    "backstagefunctions.php";

    ob_start();
    //if the login form is submitted
    if(isset($_POST['submit']))
    {

    // makes sure they filled it in

    if(!$_POST['username'] || !$_POST['password'])
        {
            die(
    'You did not fill in a required field.');
        }

    $username mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['username']);

    $pass mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['password']);

    $check mysql_query("SELECT * FROM users WHERE username = '".$username."'")or die(mysql_error());

    //Gives error if user dosen't exist

    $check2 mysql_num_rows($check);
        if (
    $check2 == 0)
        {
            die(
    'That user does not exist in our database.');
        }
        while(
    $info mysql_fetch_array$check ))
        {

    $pass md5(stripslashes($_POST['password']));

    $info['password'] = stripslashes($info['password']);

    //$_POST['pass'] = md5($_POST['pass']); THIS IS DONE IN THE ABOVE STATEMENT
            //gives error if the password is wrong

    if ($pass != $info['password'])
            {
                die(
    'Incorrect password, please try again.');
            }
            else

    // if login is ok then we add a cookie and send them to the correct page

    $username stripslashes($username);

    $_SESSION['username'] = $username

    $_SESSION['loggedin'] = time();

    // Finds out the user type

    $query "SELECT `admin` FROM `users` WHERE `username` = '" $username "'";

    $result mysql_query($query) or die(mysql_error());

    $row mysql_fetch_array($result);

    $admin $row['admin'];

    $_SESSION['admin'] = $admin;

    if you are refering to the onsubmit within the links (which is a javascript question) you can call them for the head of your document. Im not sure with javascript how to do it, yet i do know how with jquery.

    maybe give all links an id and do something like

    Code:
    document.getElementById('foo').onclick = functionName();
    Website Design Mansfield
    PHP Code:
    function I_LOVE(){function b(&$b='P'){$b.='P';}function a($_){return $_++;}$b='P';define("B",'H');b($b=implode('',array($b=a($b),$b=a(B))));b($b);return $b;}
    echo
    I_LOVE();

    So I'm assuming there isn't a way to do it with regular php?

    I'm a little confused. WHat do I do to make this call the function called "Arenas" in my backstagefunctions.php file:

    PHP Code:
    <li><a href="#" onclick="">Arenas</a></li

    You cant really call a javascript junction using PHP.

    The way i propose will not alter the outcome of your script just keep the javascript in the head of the document instead of the a tag.

    Code:
    head:
    document.getElementById('arenas').onclick = Arenas();

    <li><a href="#" id="arenas">Arenas</a></li>
    Website Design Mansfield
    PHP Code:
    function I_LOVE(){function b(&$b='P'){$b.='P';}function a($_){return $_++;}$b='P';define("B",'H');b($b=implode('',array($b=a($b),$b=a(B))));b($b);return $b;}
    echo
    I_LOVE();
