    Lightbulb Automatic E-mail notification.....?

    I was told to move this question to server side and so I have....

    Here goes,

    I'm fairly new to HTML and coding in general but have my site up and running. I have a section that allows users to upload files to my server (Files they need to show/share with me, most of which are over the typical e-mail attachment size). I was just curious if anyone knows of a way to monitor the folders that users upload to so i know whenever a file has been added. For instance, say a user uploads a picture (or pdf, doc, ect...) that he wants me to look at, he uploads the picture to website.com/upload/user and when he does, I will automatically be sent an e-mail telling me a file has been uploaded to the user folder on my server. This way I can get the files as soon as I get the notification, instead of checking them manually, and randomly to see if anything has been uploaded yet. Anyone have any ideas? I'm at a loss...

    Thanks!

    ...
    PHP Code:
    if(isset($_POST['uploadButton']))
    {
    //upload script
    if($uploadSuccessfull)
    {
    mail();
    }

    You're gonna have to help me..."mail()", does the address I want the notification sent to go in the brackets? I tried it, but i get an "unexpected syntax (@)" error.
