    Image creating

Hello, this is my first post there and I'd like to see what you guys think about this:

I've always hated making menu images over and over again and trying to make them look the same. Like when you are making images on your site for your navigation bar. You have to make them over and over again.

Well I've thought of maybe trying to make a code where you type in the url of a background image, size of the image, font, font color, font size, text, text alignment (Such as to the right, center or left)

And you click submit and the images can be made. Does this sound like something that is fairly simple

    http://www.php.net/manual/en/ref.image.php

I've already read some stuff about it?

So do you think this could be something hard to do? Or on the easier side?

I would advise testing a very basic script on your server first to check the support for GD and truetype/freetype is working properly.

If it is, then work upwards toward the functionality you want.

On an aside: if you can, get your scripts to actually save a copy of the rendered imageto a folder on your server and then link that to the pages. This is because image creation (especially font written ones) is pretty resource hungry.
