    mysql_pconnect() difference with the "@"

    what is the difference betweeen :

    1) @ $db = mysql_pconnect("localhost", "userid", "passwd");

    and

    2) $db = mysql_pconnect("localhost", "userid", "passwd");

    The @ symbol suppresses errors for the function you use it with.

    It mysteriously contacts the pentagon and lets them know all illegal software running on your PC. Don't ever use it!
