adding bold and italics for user of CMS system

Hi,

I've written a simple CMS system for my website. I'd like to add the little buttons in which allow the user to make sections of text bold, italics, underlined etc.

How can I do this? At the moment I'm having to manually insert the
tags!

Thanks,

Nicky

Thanks.

Ideally I wanted to write one myself rather than use a template.
