    Installing phpmyadmin

I've just installed phpmyadmin on my server and i've got it working fine. The only problem is anyone can access it. How do i put up the user authentification thing? So that it requires the user to login before using it.

    hi,

the following line can be found in the config.inc.php file

    PHP Code:
$cfg['Servers'][$i]['auth_type']     = 'http';    // Authentication method (config, http or cookie based)?
if you leave this as http it will request a user to login everytime they try to access the phpmyadmin.

you can also protect it with a .htaccess and .htpasswd if you want to use cookie auth with phpmyadmin.

I don't know which version you are running but the latest one 2.11.0-rc1 is blowing me away on how fast it is.

I used to run an older version of phpmyadmin but I am really impressed on this version. Perhaps the other ones were like that but from someone who was using a few years old version, make a big difference.
