    Could this code be used in php?

    Its a vb code, but this is the only solution i found to do this trick, i want a "msn" like alert popup when new data is written to mysql database, like "a new ticket has been created"

    Simply put, no. PHP can't do that kind of thing. You can get events fired off telling you the database has been updated though, but getting it into a little notification can be done through the web browser using AJAX or something along those lines.
