    XAMPP Trouble

    Hello Fello Coders,

I have downloaded the Xammp applications from apachefriends, once dowload complete i instaled the package using the installer. once installed it says somthing like "SLL ports already in use". and in the Xampp Control Panel it says error.

and if i open localhost in my browser that doesn't work.

    Any suggestions?

Make sure all instant messenger programs are closed before you try launching or installing xampp. I've had a similar problem where apache wouldn't start. Exited all my messenger programs and it started fine.

Try restarting computer and install again, once installed restart computer. Do not have any other programs running.

Skype runs - for some odd reasons - on port 80 unless port 80 is already in use. Maybe that will solve your problem with the non-running localhost. SLL default is port 443 so you need to check which of your other programs uses this port.
