    Text emails are only text (with links to internet URL's) ...

    HTML emails can display links and graphics.

    You can only send an HTML email that links to a site on the internet.
    You cannot control anything with Javascripting (client-side) in an email,
    not in a text email, not in an HTML email.

    If a person uses an offline email client (like Outlook Express), they will
    only be able to access HTML email when online.

    That's about all you can do.

    ===============

    The alternative would be to create an executable file that the person
    downloads and installs on their PC ... like a widget. They would need to
    not only trust the download, but install it themselves.
