    screen capturing question

I want to find a script which when run, will capture a webpage screenshot, make it an image (jpg|png), and save it to the server.

Anyone know if perl is best for this and if not, what would be?

From where and how are you planning on executing this script?

If you're planning on running this from your local Windows workstation, then there are several modules which can be used in conjunction to accomplish your goal. However, if you're planning on doing this on your web host server, then I'd say no; I seriously doubt that it can be done. The main reason is that, with the exception of Windows servers, the server isn't running in GUI mode.

    Thanks FishMonger.

It's to be run on a linux dedicated webserver. Basically, I send a param to the script (a url) and the script runs, to create a screenshot and to save it as an image on the same server.

If it can't be done, at least I now know that and can forget about it.
