    Optimise And Validate My CSS

In the process of updating my website I've made a god awful mess of my CSS files, adding new styles all over the place to achieve the look I want. I'm fully aware that the resulting code could be a lot more efficient, but because I'm lazy, I'd like to outsource the job to clean this up.

The job will involve the following:

    - Merge styles wherever possible to minimise code bloat. Basically I want the smallest most logical stylesheet imaginable.
    - Ensure all my CSS validates. The new site is XHTML 1.1 strict compliant and I'd like the CSS to match.
    - Afterwards, provide me a detailed summary of the changes you've made so that I can modify my HTML and databases to gel with the modified stylesheets (I imagine many of the changes will involve applying two or more classes to an element which I am not currently doing).

Feel free to take a look at the code in question before hand in order to assess whether you can do this and if it's worth your time. There are 3 pages which contain all of the styles I will need throughout the whole site, and 2 stylesheets (seperated purely because it seemed like a good idea at the time, feel free to advise otherwise) :

    All at www.board-crazy.co.uk
    /newsite/index.php
    /newsite/tricks_a.php
    /newsite/skateboarding_beginners_1.php

    and
    /newsite/scripts/layout.css
    /newsite/scripts/styles.css

I'd like to see some proof that you can code valid XHTML and CSS before I take you on, unless I already know from your forum activity that you're a coding genius.

For this I'm willing to pay by PAYPAL £15 or whatever your local equivalent to this is at the time of completion. Please e-mail me at lookforadam[AT]yahoo.co.uk if you want this job. Other payment options are not open to me.

    Thanks for reading

Hmm, 36 views and no emails. Can some of you give me a headsup on why this isn't being taken up?

Because its 4 pages and IMO it is worth more than the 24 odd us dollars you are willing to pay. The fact that you want someone else to do your own work for you just because you are "lazy", that says something in itself. I could understand if you didn't know to do the work you needed to get done but obviously this isn't the case.

Okay, I figured for someone who is up on CSS this would be less than an hour of work, but if $24 is less than your hourly rate then fair enough.

As for me being lazy saying something, yes - it says I'm lazy. What bearing this has on the job I don't know. How would it be a more valid prospect if I didn't know how to do the work myself?

Because then you would actually need someone to do the work because you didn't know how but seeing as how you have done the CSS for your site already then it shows that you know what you are doing.

That much is obvious yes. Still, I know how to clean the office but I pay somebody else to do it. I also know the basics of sewage treatment, how to make fried chicken, how to grow vegetables and slaughter cattle, but in each one of those cases I pay somebody else to do it for me.

Your position would be slightly more understandable if I were asking for free help, but I'm not.

Not that I'm having a go at you for not taking on my job... it's just that this particular reason seems really bizarre...
