    Easy PHP Project

    Hi,

I currently have a website that is just an entanglement of pure html, javascript, asp and php. I would like to get rid of as much javascript and asp as possible. I just don't have enough time to do it.

There are approximately 100 static html pages on this site. About 10-15 dynamic pages.

There really isn't much database work to do.

Almost every page is layed out the same way, it has content, header, footer, javascript served testimonials, and some javascript served random ads. What I will need done is to change every page in the site to php. Make the header, footer, and javascript items includes. The javascript items right now just serve random images, I would like that to be changed to php randomizer.

Change all pages to php and make all 'old' pages redirect to the new .php pages, so search engine links work.

Make custom 'wrong url' for people who type the wrong url directory or filename into the browser.

Make sure all alt image tags have descriptive text

Make sure all meta tags have correct descriptive text for each individual type of product

    Check all links for validity.

    Create sitemap.

The navigational header should include a database driven site tiered menu.

The 'online store' that I created will need to be reworked a little. We prefer a very simple design for this. We do sell through dealers, so the online store section does not need to be too prominent, it should be a last resort if a customer cannot find a dealer. The 'online store' section is NOT a very important part of this job.

    Search integration

    Keyword search integration

    Reorganize files.

All content that is needed is there so you will not have to provide any of that. This is just a rework of the site. I personally created the site, so I know how everything works.

    Slight appearance modifications are permitted.

You will have access to a backup version of this site on a unix server (I would like to migrate)

Anything that you need done by me will need to be submitted to me in a .txt document. I will provide any additional content, meta tag keywords, alt text, etc that you need.

    this is the site: www.extremausa.com

I expect this project ot be rewarded to someone within the next 2-4 weeks. No professional experience necessary. I will guess that this project will pay about $400 USD, plus cost of any necessary scripts.

    Hello again,

I'm answering some of the questions that I have gotten so far:

    • No you will not need to do graphic work unless you need to make something like a spacer.gif for some reason
    • Reiterated, you do not need past experience, but I will need some way of evaluating your competence (such as being able to search past forum postings)
    • I'll work with you as much as possible. I have ICQ and YIM
    • For the most part, the initial post is your work plan. When I send you your instructions, I will take that post and break it down further so you know exactly what to do.
    • The keyword search is kind of like the aol keyword. We're using these keywords to maximize our ads in magazines and flyers. We would like to place keywords in our advertisements so someone can type that keyword into a keyword entry form and automatically be redirected to the correct page on our site. The search option will be just a regular search.
    • To see what I mean by custom 'wrong url' go here http://www.macromedia.com/this_is_no...edia_directory
    • We don't care where you are from, just as long as you can type english

    On to our situation:
Our company is in a rural area, and the tech workers in our area do not meet our expectations. We have been trying to find full time workers for the last 1.5 years to no avail. I am the marketing manager/network technician/dealer sales rep/webmaster/etc...etc.... for our company and I am stretched too thin. We are looking for a base of individuals that we can call on sometimes to complete projects that we need done. If this works well, I will definitely do this again.

Just get it done in a reasonable amount of time and we'll be happy. I understand some people may have tests to study for, babies to take care of, and things like that.....

Hm, sounds a lot like what I ended up doing for GeorgiaStreetPlaza.com, just bigger. Mainly code cleanup from the looks of it.

Search options, I've had trouble making that stuff actually stick to a search engine (meaning offsite). I actually have a lot of time, being unemployed.
