    Coder for Hire

    CSS- 1 year
    HTML - 5 years
    Photosphop - 6/7 years
    Javascript - 2/3 years
    php - 1 year
mySQL - still on a big learning curve

I am an extremely fast designer, and have alot of ideas, I am paricularly good in a situation where you need me to put alot of ideas across, as I am very imaginative...

My prices are negotiable... So if you want work doing PM me and we can negociate!

    No time wasting morons please.

At the minute... the first few requests will be done for free providing they are relativley small projects... this is just while i build up my portfolio.

So I guess you are no longer a free web designer then huh?
    free web design.

Now that you are asking for money you should probably provide a portfolio of some kind showing the work you have done. If you haven't done any work, then you may want to just stick to free coding to build up your portfolio.

yeh possibly.... can i get rid of this thread. shouldn't have posted it really. Still havn't got a very good portfolio on the go... getting a portfolio is quite hard, as people seem to want to see one before they give you work, but i don't really have one, so how can i show them one?

    viscious circle....

Many nonprofit organizations will be willing to let you do their site without a portfolio. Go to your local area churches and ask if they would like a website done. Many of them if they don't have one already are always willing to allow someone else to try.

Well, I like to give someone a break so, are you into designing webpages, where I show you the xhtml and you code just the css??

Standardised and valid xhtml done already and I need 10 CSS versions. For each I would need one stylesheet for positioning and one which controls colors/fonts/fontsizes etc

We can start with you supplying jpegs of your design ideas and if suitable, I would pay for the actual css, when you have done it. I hope I have been around her long enough to have shown my credentials such that you can be sure that you'd be paid on showing the css.

    conditions are that:
    1. It must be valid css and x-browser capable
    2. I must like it (subjective issue but, I want the job done so I am looking for good stuff so i can (pay for), and use it.
    3. I must have copyright of the css - so it is 'mine' without any later issues.
    4. We need to get on well together, as there is more work in the pipeline and I like consistency.

pm me if you would like to know more.

Build sites for yourself - a personal homepage, portfolio site (even if you have nothing to put on it yet) a fansite about a hobby of yours. These things are enough to get you started. Clients want to see what you can do. If you've never built a website you cant call yourself a webdesigner/coder. They just want to see what you can do (and that you can do what you say), most clients wont care that your portfolio isnt full of big commercial projects.
That comes later when you have a pricetag to match

it may not be that they dont want to give you a chance, but there could be no "work" at the moment, be patient and something will come along..

There's plenty of work out there, but there's also alot of competition. I'd suggest printing out some leaflets and walking around your local trading estate and posting them there, aswell as schools and churches.
