    online app needs css guru

    Hey all,

I'm creating an online application to be used by my company for contact management/task management. The application is developed in rails - it's essentially a highrise knockoff.

I've used highrise to learn how to code in rails and it's been a fun experience. What's not so fun is css. I'd like to hire a css guru to help with tweaking the interface and make it a bit more presentable. There is a deadline for this project.

Because of the minor nature of the css work required, I believe the deadline won't be a problem. If after looking at the project, you disagree, I'll defer to your opinion. If I hire you, you're the expert and I'll get out of your way. The deadline for this project will be Tuesday, July 10th. Again, I think this is pretty reasonable as based on my experience - there is only about two hours worth of work - if that much really.

Contact me via the forum and provide your rates, samples of your work and I'll get back in touch so we can discuss and possibly move forward. The budget for this project is: $100 - it's pretty minimal work. As I stated in the previous paragraph, feel free to forward me your rates however. I may have other work in the future as I'm not the most proficient css coder. I can do it if my arm is twisted and all that but, it's not something I enjoy, nor am I very good at it. My brain works differently I guess

I've lurked around for a bit and there are some very talented people on this board. Hope to be able to work with some of you!

This guy is obviously not to be trusted. I found out the hard way a few weeks ago. We had good mail communication, I fixed the site, but haven't recieved any payment, nor an answer yet and doubt I will ever get it.

Thanks for the heads up. I usually don't trust new members who only have a few posts.

Too bad. Sorry to hear that…
I guess we all have to learn the hard way at some point. Glad that it wasn’t a $1000 job.

Anyway, I usually agree on a down payment based on the budget. I’ve had several occasions where after clarifying my rules I’ve never heard of the person again (even if it was just like $25 in advance)… so that can give you an indication of how serious they were. And there’s no need to whine about a lost opportunity in this case because that really just saved you from a headache.
