Hiring Designer - unlimited budget for the right candidate

I'm looking to hire a designer for a very specific project. I want the best so I have no fixed upper limit on budget - when applying you must state your rates.

The site will have a very simple, soft, feminine look so please bear that in mind when applying.

In addition to the site design, I will need a number of additional graphics for the application core - drawing/sketching skill is essential - these will be stylised images of women and clothing, they must fit with the style of the site but they do not need to be hand-drawn. As long as they meet the specification and fit with the style of the site, thats fine.

Price will not be a deciding factor. Quality of work is all I'm interested in.

If you think you can meet the breif please follow these simple instructions (if you cant comply then you're not right for the job)

    Reply in this thread stating:
    1. Contact details
    2. Link to your portfolio - if your portfolio is extensive then I expect to be pointed in the direction of applicable works (those that fit the style I'm looking for)
    3. State your hourly rate and estimated time to design a simple 1 page site OR your per design cost.
    4. If you can code XHTML & CSS to the latest standards, please also include your costings for a buildout of your design. (if prices vary, please state your average price)
    5. State your availability over the next 2 weeks.

Knowledge/ interest in fashion a bonus.

Confidentiality is a must, you will not be allowed to talk about the project with anyone other than myself or use it as portfolio until the project is launched.

Just a reminder - I will not consider applicants that cant follow the simple instructions in this thread - if you cant do that then I have no confidence that you could follow my instructions when working for me. I'm amazed that out of all the applicants so far, none have managed to comply.

I wouldn't post my contact details here either. Good luck finding someone.

I'm asking for some way to get in touch with applicants - not their social security number, date of birth and mother's maiden name.

No offence but that would be very stupid to let a job with unlimited budget slip away just because it’s against your principles to post your contact details here.

I would apply here but I think this is a little ahead of me yet as far as the graphic design skills (especially he drawing skills) go… hope you find someone. If not, you know where to find me.

I know an artist that may be interested but does not do web design. Are you willing to consider an artist for the artist stuff only?

If you send me a link to his/her stuff, I'll take a look, I want the very best for this project so if they're good then I'll certainly consider them

I too know a pretty good artist that might be able to help you out. Unfortunately, I absolutely suck at design, and I've been working with this guy for about 3 years to do most of my graphic design work.

    His portfolio is here:
    http://www.artwiredmedia.com/elements/default.htm

His development company contact info is here:
    http://www.540interactive.com/contactus/

He's done several site designs for me including:

    http://www.yourlistonline.com
    http://www.northwoodshomeaccents.com

And a few others that escape me right now.

    Offered for your consideration.

    Hi Hazel

I have just come across your thread and would like to be of assistance in creating your site.

A little brief info about me: I am a Lancashire based freelancer with thirteen years experience in Graphic Design. My day job invloves creating award winning magazines for a small publishing company. One publication being a Parenting Magazine aimed towards the mothers of children from birth to early years. I am profficient in Adobe PhotoShop amongst other software although I am just stepping into the world web design so at the moment I dont have any extensive experience in XHTML and CSS, this aside, I am keen to develop long term working relationships with programmers/entrepreneurs...

You can find my contact details on my website: www.glue-design.co.uk
My portfolio is also on the site (just click on the small images) though I intend to fill this section with more of my work within this next week.
I the meantime I am more than happy to email you some other samples of my work if required.

If I get this job I am happy to correspond via phone, msn or email.

For a simple one page site (design only) my fee would start at £150, any design work after that I charge on a £25 per hour basis.

I am available immediately (evenings) msn during the day

    Hi Hazel

I operate an established web development company with a strong reputation for high quality productions. I personally work as a full time consultant for my business.

I have an extensive list of graphic designers that work for me. Some sample graphics mainly include online gambling companies:

    www.stakegammon.com
    www.backgammon24-7.com
    www.londonscasino.com

Most of the work for these companies is graphical based including animated gif and flash banners.

I have around 8 years of development experience including PHP/MySql, CSS, XML, XHTML, DHTML, JavaScript, Java and so forth, so I know my stuff!

I work with allot of larger companies and corporations such as www.powerupgames.com and www.cosmonor.com ( a French beauty company ) on a long standing contract basis

I usually don't charge by the hour so I would need more details on the project in question, but considering there will be allot of graphics to be developed on your site we would be looking at around £1000 ( GBP ) with a maximum of 8 week turn over ( contracted )

References: www.gewebsitedevelopment.com/testimonials.html ( please ignore the state of the company site, I hardly use it as it is not my source of business... so its about a year out of date! [ except the references ] )

    My email: glen.elkins@gewebsitedevelopment.com
    Tel: +44 (0) 1723 341088

    Your thoughts?

    Regards

Ideally, I'd ask for more information regarding your project as your description states little about content, whether you want it in flash or static code, whether you need a logo etc. However, I'll still give you a rough estimate of prices and some work I've done.

My freelance work invovles designing sites mainly for hosting companies, such as BlueWho: www.vishnuprakash.com/stephan/, Fused Network: www.vishnuprakash.com/clients/fused/ and JetNet Host: www.vishnuprakash.com/clients/Jetnet/. TheWayOf is a fashion footwear designer who I've also worked with: www.vishnuprakash.com/clients/two. Please have a browse through my other work at www.vishnuprakash.com/clients/

On my professional career, I have had experience with high street designers such as Prada and Armani – although I am not allowed to disclose those details as I’d be breaching company policy. I am also competent in drawing, sketching and painting if it comes necessary.

If you are able to provide a more detailed design spec, I'd be able to give you a more realistic quote relative to your requirements. But as an estimate, my prices for a completed design start at £3000, which includes design, coding and content set up.

Please send me a PM if you're interested!

    Thanks,
    Vish
