    [Hiring] PHP/MySQL/Ajax Coder

I am currently looking for a PHP/MySQL/Ajax coder to add features to a web host billing system, e.g Coupon System, Support Desk. I need a coder that will be focused on doing the job, not just another bludger who makes me wait 10 days for a response to an email. I need someone who speaks fluent in english and that doesn't take 96 hours to make a simple coupon system. I am looking for a coder that charges between $10 and $20/hour. Please only respond if you are serious about this offer.

    Charges between $10 and $20 / hour and doesn't take 96 hours?

Hmm, what if I charge $125 / hour but only take 5 hours?

    96 x $15 = $1440
    $125 x 10 = $625

Sounds like the last guy you had was slow and expensive - the absolute worst case. But there are a lot of people that are very fast and expensive that may be a better deal than a slow and cheap programmer.

I agree with bcarl314, stipulating an hourly rate is just a false economy. If you will only hire someone who charges 'newb' rates, you're going to get a newb. My boyfriend charges half what I do, but he takes twice as long to do the same job. Fast, good, cheap - pick 2 cos you cant have it all.
If you want to get the best person for the job, give good detail of what you need doing and state your budget - not an hourly rate.

    Yikes

Remember, you pick 2 of fast, GOOD, and cheap. Not fast, PERFECT, and cheap.

Usually, it's been my experience that people claim they don't want a quality product, until the deliverable is complete. Then they find some type of bug and expect it to be fixed (for no cost).

A note to those applying for this - there are several red flags here in my mind. Make sure you adequately protect yourself.
