Same question, I'm interested - I've done related work in the past, I prefer C++ in these cases.

I think this thread is trapped in the what-do-I-pay / whats-your-budget loop. So, to speed things along a little

In my opinion, if you have a project, you as a business owner / project owner must have some idea what its worth to you. It may be a big project, but if its not that critical, you may value it at $500. On the other hand, if it's a very critical project and needs to be done, it would have a much higher worth. So I think, for the most part, the responsiblity is on the part of the project owner to state what they are willing to pay - ie the project's worth to them.

That said, I also think it's fair to solicit bids to be competitive, so your post asking what is "fair" is reasonable. However, what you consider "fair" and what someone else considers "fair" may be completely different. I, for example, can say that if I had the skill set necessary to complete this project, a fair pay rate may be somewhere between $75 and $100 / hour. Others that may have advanced skills, and may be able to work faster, and better, may thinkg $150 - $250 / hour is fair. Whereas a newbie who may take 3 -5 times longer and not develop quality code may think $20 / hour is fair. So, given those possibilities, it really comes back to what you think the project is worth.

That said, can you please post a budget range for this project?

    Thanks

And it's in the forum rules...

Your offer must be paid in nature, in clear monetary form. This is a very important rule, your offer must not be along the lines of "I have a low budget so I cant pay much". You must state your budget or payment rate.

Also if you have any more specific details that will definitely help us determine what "fair" would be for us. I'm still interested in this.

Not to be a nit picker here but 50 - 100 what?

This board does have members from all over the world. 50 yen is hardly a decent wage.

My guess is you're talking US Dollars?
