Help with a html (form) problem

im not fluent in html but i am good enough for what i want.

however, i want to make a form that records a Username and email address that are entered by a user, i want it recorded to a txt file...now i think i can do this (tho help on recording to text file would be greatful)

but because this is to do with a competition, i dont want people entering more than once, would it be possible to record there ip address and send it along with the username and email address to the text file.

also, i would like som kind of destinction between submissions,...what i mean is in the text file, i want to visually be able to tell one applicant from another.

Please any help you give on this matter would help soooo much!

    Thanks, ScruBz

    Welcome to CodingForums

You would need a server side language such as PHP to do that....

ok, so php...as i dont know anything as to php, is there som kind of pre-written basic code for somthing im after, i will be able to alter it from there - all's i really need is the code for somthing else but that is similar enough for me to change at its basic levels.
