    Question How to change printer settings from serverside?

    Hello

    I have an ActiveX component which when loaded from client side browser changes its printer settings that is orientation from portrait to landscape. But when user clicks on this "print this page" link, download ActiveX component message is displayed. If anybody can help, how to do from serverside (IBM WebSphere) so that these messages are not displayed & printer dialog box settings change to A4, Landscape.

    Looking forward for an early reply.

    Thanks

    well, like they told you in the clientside section: you shouldn't attemp to define the printersettings. This is the clients responsability + it's not very likely you'll find a satisfying sollution anyway.

    if you want to control the layout of a printed document, then you should use a PDF. Then you can completely control the pageorientation and layout + you can dynamically create the PDF's with a server side language like PHP or ASP.

    Question

    I heard we have to create object with syntax.

    var abc=Server.CreateObject, etc.

    Don't know much in detail but we have to do some registry then it will happen.
