    ColdFusion?

    Was just wondering what the benifits (if any) of learning cold fusion over say php. From what i understand the server you run it on need to support cf page extensions just like php?

    any help would be apreciated

    As someone who learnt ColdFusion before starting on PHP, (..and a fellow Aussie ) I strongly recommend you go straight to PHP.
    For starters, ColdFusion hosting ain't cheap! A single server license costs a couple of grand, whereas PHP/Apache/MySQL are all free
    Second, the online support and tutorials available for C.F. are pathetically insignificant in comparison to those available for PHP.
    Thirdly, unless you want a career as a CF developer, you'll never find much use for it. (Trust me, I lived with a full-time CF develpoer until this month)
    If your focus was entirely Flash/Flash Communication Server/Flex/MM Central/Director then I'd say go for ColdFusion, as it's your only real choice for most of those applications.
    But if you're a web designer/developer trying to decide what server-side language to tackle, go for PHP, no doubt about it.
    After a year of studying CFMX and 2 months of teaching myself PHP, I'd never consider using ColdFusion again.
