    Question HTTP Authentication

Very simple question... which I couldnt find by simply googling..

Is HTTP authentication information encrypted when travelling between a user and our server?
I have a few pages with information which is relatively unimportant compared to the password that would be used. (The same user/pass information is used elsewhere outside the web)..

    Thanks

Yes but only if you are viewing the pages on an SSL connection. Otherwise it is sent clear text. So you might need to setup an SSL certificate on your site.

Thanks.. I knew for sure that it would be secure when using SSL, but since it is quite a hassle I thought it might not be nessecary if the password was already encrypted anyway..
