Can IIS do a secure site with HTTPS???

    Can IIS do HTTPS?

I want to move one of my sites to a secure server, and was wondering if IIS can use the HTTPS:// protocol.

    Anyone know?

    thanks

Yes, all you need to do is install a SSL certificate on the site and it will turn on the options for it.

You need to usually buy one. You can make the file yourself but unless it is signed by a third party that is listed as trusted in the browser that window asking you if you want to continue to a secure site is going to come up.

If you want to make it yourself you can with certificate server, which is a part of windows 2k/2k3 server.

Otherwise you gotta buy it from someone like Verisign, however there are cheaper alternatives.
