.htaccess (this the right forum?) please assist

I want to deny all urls except for 4 to access my site via a link opening in a new window. So basically:

    www.mysite.com/page.htm <~ opens
    www.myblockedsite.com/folder/folder

I'm using Flash to open my links in a new window, the links go straight into a folder with no index. Is it possible for www.myblockedsite.com to block all domains except for the ones I list?

    I tried:
    allow from mysite.com
    deny from all

but obviously that didn't work..I tried loading the url in the same window, thinking it was lacking a referrer..no dice. I have too much trouble with hotlinkers, I need www.mysite.com to be entirely blocked off unless you come from my specified sites. Please tell me this is possible..thanks to all whom reply

    Something like so:

    Order Deny,Allow
    Deny from all
    Allow from example.com
    Allow from example2.com

I tried that to no avail, it simply denied all sites and wouldn't allow the ones I listed. Or do I need to make sure allow is below deny? like the way you listed? Mine was backwards, deny all was at the bottom

Yes, it must be in that order. Read the page I linked to.

it looks like it should work, but it still doesn't. is it because I'm linking to the folder from a flash movie? Do I need to use a normal text/image link in order for the .htaccess to catch the referrer?

hate to bump but..any thoughts? will linking in flash prevent the server from reading the referrer when the page is accessed?

I don't know. Have you placed the .htaccess and the pop-up page in their own directory?
