You can install CFMX to use either the CF built in Web server or IIS, Apache, etc..
If you are wanting to use IIS, install IIS prior to CFMX (you can reconfig later if you require but its not as easy).
During your install choose IIS as your web server
Once the install is complete your web root will be c:\inetpub\wwwroot (or where ever your install of IIS lives) for Apache i think its c:\program files\apache group\apache\htdocs

If you installed using the CFMX built in Web server then your web root will be c:\cfusionmx\wwwroot

If you installed using IIS or Apache etc then your url will be http://127.0.0.1 or http://localhost

Otherwise via the built in CFMX web server it will be http://127.0.0.1:8500 or http://localhost:8500

I hope this helps you out.
Remember to install the latest updater to CFMX (currently Updater 3 downloadable form MM)
