Question Migration from oracle to db2?

    Happy New Year

I have an application ready with db oracle but I also need this application to be set with db2. How to export tables & its data from oracle to db2 with ease? I surf the net but not written in easy way.

Looking forward for a early reply

    Thanks

There isn't an "easy" way. Is there ever, outside of Staples commercials?

If you aren't a DBA, get one to help you. Oracle will need exported, then modified to import into DB2. I know Oracle has an export utility and you must have permissions to invoke it. It was a pain just to get my stuff all good from Oracle 7i to 8i.
Not sure about import for DB2.

Usenet might be your best friend here (google groups has posts from Usenet, check there if you don't have a newsserver).

If this post contains any code, I may or may not have tested it. It's probably just example code, so no getting knickers in a bunch over a typo, OK? If it doesn't have basic error checking in it, such as object detection or checking if objects are null before using them, put that in there. I'm giving examples, not typing up your whole app for you. You run code at your own risk.

if you use toad, you can generate sql scripts to create table and enter data. These sql scripts might need some editing before ou can execute them in the db2, but it might give you a headstart. I hear you can download a free version of toad. I dont know if this version lets you create the slq scripts, but it's worth a try
