Can I edit values in a table view?

    I will have a table
I will then have a view of that table

Can I edit values in the view?
I would want these values to be changed in the actual source table

    Thanks

TOAD for mysql can do editing even in results of joined tables (which makes view not needed) query. Doh you have to know what exactly you are doing. And it crashes almost each time, by my experience.
    Mybe newest version is OK.

If you only have view from one table, then I recomen heidi sql, it works there (one table only query).

I don't know what TOAD or HEIDI are and I don't see how they are relevant to something simple like this.

Yes, you can create a view and then use the field names in that view during an update.

I would *NOT* recommend doing this with a view that is built up from a join. You WILL have problems if you update the value of a field that appears in both of the joined tables.
