    #1045 Error

I tried re-installing my mysql server but still got the error below. Please help me get rid of this error.

    Thanks in advance

phpMyAdmin tried to connect to the MySQL server, and the server rejected the connection. You should check the host, username and password in your configuration and make sure that they correspond to the information given by the administrator of the MySQL server.

you aren't passing a password through. try connecting directly through mysql client. unless you set a password during installation there is none for root user.

I changed from xamp to wamp (also changed root folders) n still get the same error.
in which file can the passwords the be found? Is there a way I can reset the root passwords?

try connecting directly through the mysql client. By default there is no password for the root user. did you add one when you installed? did you create another user? You basically should not be using root as the user for security reasons.

once you know you can connect through the mysql client then you know it must be a setup with the other applications.
