    No. The whole point is to *NOT* do this. PERIOD.

    Can you work around it with PHP code? Yes, but ONLY by reading EVERY RECORD in the table and having PHP process EVERY RECORD.

    DON'T DO IT.

    You say you agree with the statement and then you try to find a way around it. That makes no sense.
    An optimist sees the glass as half full.
