    closing a Firefox browser

    Hello,

    I wish to close an IE browser as well as a Firefox browser (if visitors are using that instead of IE) using on the onclick funtion.

    I've searched and found the usual scrips like,

    <a href="javascript:window.close()">close</a>
    <input type="button" value="close" onclick="javascript:self.close();">
    <input type="submit" value="close" onClick="window.close()">

    These all work in IE but not Firefox. My javascript is enabled in Firefox so is it my version of Firefox that is faulty or have I missed something.

    Thanks

    Abbas

    Is the window you are trying to close opened with javascript? If its not you will never be able to do it in Firefox.

    Hello _Aerospace_Eng

    Thanks for replying. No it is not. I plan to send out an e mail newsletter with an abridged story in it. The reader will click a link in the newsletter to a fuller version of the article on a web page. I thought it would be nice to have the ability for the reader to close the web page so they can view the e mail newsletter without doing an alt tab function.

    So I guess its not possible.

    Abbas
