Post userId and password to external site

    Hi,

I have a HTML which takes the URL for logging in, userID and password. I want the Javascript embedded in my HTML to post userID and password to the URL entered, and then display the welcome page after logging in. How do I achieve this?
Also, the url entered can be HTTPS website too. So, does Javascript need to do encryption ?

    Thanks,
    Minnie

What does JavaScript have to deal with this. It can not handle user names and passwords securely. You need a serverside language to do this with a normal form submission.

I *think* what the OP is after, is to have javascript alter the 'action' part of the form based on a url entered in an input field
