Possible to get date from rss feeds with javascript?

I was wondering if it was possible to get the date of the most recent item on a rss feed with javascript. If it is possible could somebody please show me an example script?

    Thanks so much.

Yes you can, but the datasource (XML file) has to be on the same domain. You can not get it from another site.

You need to use the XMLHttpRequest Object (Ajax) to get the file.
