    permission denied error

    Hi,
I'm trying to open a document from my local drive with open.window method and I’m getting a "permission denied" error.
Does any one has an idea how to resolve it?

    Thanks,
    Shlomi

Is this page that has window.open on it online? If it is online you will get the error because Javascript can't go cross domain, your local file is considered cross domain.

    yap its in another domain

The page with the open.window code is on my web server while the
document i'm trying to open is on my local drive.
Is there any way to do it?
I'm trying to build a web page which is an index of local files and to let users open the local files from the index page???

Is this going to be a local application? If not then there is no way for other users to access your files because it will try to point to a file on their system not yours.
