Question How To Abort Loading If It Takes Too Long Or Fail?

    Hi,
When I load anything like either html file or image in javascript using element.src = "mypage.html", sometimes either the server is too busy or the page is not available due to maintainance. And the browser will just keep saying "Transferring the data from ..." forever on that one file. Then for a while, the browser will just freeze.

How can I use javascript to tell browser to stop the attempt to transfer the data if it seems that the file is not available?

    Many thanks.
