this is very much a newbie question that i should have asked a long time ago. w/in my asp.net app, i have various Web Forms controls and HTML controls. i figured i would use all Web Forms controls in case there were any server-side info/events i wanted to capture/handle from them.

problem now is.. i want to do client-side validation on these controls. i realize i can add handlers for the asp controls, e.g.
Code:
this.ServerControl.Attributes.Add("onclick", "JavascriptFunction();");
but if i actually wanted to hide/show, change text, change background colors, etc of these controls.. they would need to be HTML controls? is this true? can i not access server controls with javascript?

what are my options?
