Transer ASP variables to Javascript Popup?

I have an ASP page that needs to have a link for a popup window that will contain dynamic content loaded from a database.

The trick is that I can't pass a dynamic URL containing an ASP variable in a Javascript popup window call.

My ASP is in VBScript. If I recoded it in Javascript ASP would I be able to pass a variable from the ASP to the Javascript popup code?

Can I do a popup without using Javascript?

Here is the site. When a user clicks description I want it to bring up a popup window for that product.

    http://www.stangpro.com/asp/storenew.asp?Company=SLP

Any help is greatly appreciated. I'm totally stuck on this one.

I solved the problem by simply putting the javascript code inside an ASP Response.Write

    <%
    Response.Write("<a href=javascript:MSGnew('descriptionView.asp?partNum=" & parts("partNum") & "')>Description</a>")
    %>

This loads a Javascript popup window of a dynamic URL
