    Sniffing Child Window URL

    I'm working on a site that runs with a partner's website and I am writing a web page that provides instructions in another languate to the other site. I would like to be able to sniff the URL of the child window in which my partner's web site is displayed and so be able to provide context-sensitive instructions. So far all trials using JavaScript have failed. I've tried referencing the window using the

    partner = window.open("http://www.someplace.com", "partner")

    command, but when using the

    partner.location

    command, my JavaScript Console brings up the following error:

    Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x8007000e (NS_ERROR_OUT_OF_MEMORY) [nsIDOMNSHTMLDocument.write]" nsresult: "0x8007000e (NS_ERROR_OUT_OF_MEMORY)" location: "JS frame :: http://hawktec/gltd2.0/esltools/instructions.asp :: <TOP_LEVEL> :: line 27" data: no]

    Is it even possible to do what I'm trying to do with JavaScript? If not, please cut me short before I embarrass myself any more.

    Blessings,

    Josh.

    It would be nice if you shared the solution so that other reading this may learn from it... 'Tis what these communities are all about... sharing and learning...
