    i used a script i found in here in dynamic drive and modified it to work on my web page with the following code:

    <HTML>
    <HEAD>

    <TITLE>creative feel web design - home</TITLE>
    <STYLE>
    <!--

    BODY {background: url(bgbar3.jpg)}
    -->
    </STYLE>
    <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">

    image1 = new Image();
    image1.src = "home2.jpg";

    image2 = new Image();
    image2.src = "about2.jpg";

    image3 = new Image();
    image3.src = "service2.jpg";

    image4 = new Image();
    image4.src = "client2.jpg";

    image5 = new Image();
    image5.src = "process2.jpg";

    image6 = new Image();
    image6.src = "contact2.jpg";

    image7 = new Image();
    image7.src = "link2.jpg";

    image8 = new Image();
    image8.src = "flash2.jpg";

    var offsetleft=10
    var offsettop=175

    var ns4=document.layers
    var ie4=document.all
    var ns6=document.getElementById&&!ie4

    function makeStatic() {
    if (ie4) {object1.style.pixelTop=document.body.scrollTop+offsettop}
    else if (ns6) {document.getElementById("object1").style.top=window.pageYOffset+offsettop}
    else if (ns4) {eval(document.object1.top=eval(window.pageYOffset+offsettop));}
    setTimeout("makeStatic()",0);

    </HTML>

    the code works great....unless user is using netscape......is it possible to do the same effects so the the site would be the same in netscape.......if so how would i do this.......if not i assume that i would need to design differenrt pages for netscape users.....if i have to do that how do i code a browser detection that would redirect users to netscape viewable pages...sorry to be so long winded but i am unsure what to do now.

    if you would like to see the page in the different browsers the url is:

    You are talking about the following page (for example), right!?
    http://www.enter.net/~jrmorris1958/indexC.html

    Well, I just tested it on the following browsers:
    • IE 6
    • Netscape 4.79
    • Netscape 6
    • Opera 5
    • Mozilla 1.0

    It froze up Opera, but worked just fine on all the other browsers.

    The menu, according to DynamicDrive, is not even set to work on N6/Mozilla. But it does.

    So, I don't know what else to tell you.

    Oh, the proper forum would have been the "Dynamic Drive" one -- it's a sub-forum to this JavaScript forum. But, just leave this thread here (do not start a new one). A moderator may move it...and then again may not. All is good.
