    enabling/disabling form field depending on drop down option

    I'm trying to get my head around this and not having much luck. I did a search and didn't come up with much.

    I have a form drop down menu and depending on the option I select different text fields become enabled or disabled. Has anyone seen something like this?

    Thanks in advanced.

    No, but I can imagine several variations of how to set that up--depending on specifics, of course.

    has me in a mix as well.

    I'd have a drop down with 3 input fields. If I selected sad from the drop down I want ihappy and imean to be disabled. Then but if I selected mean then imean would become active and ihappy and isad would become disabled.

    Just the matter of defining and setting up the rules.

    <select>
    <option value="happy">happy
    <option value="sad">sad
    <option value="mean">mean
    </select>

    <input type="text" value="" name="ihappy">
    <input type="text" value="" name="isad">
    <input type="text" value="" name="imean">
