I have the following:

<HTML>
<HEAD>
<TITLE>TEST</TITLE>
</HEAD><BODY BGCOLOR="SILVER"><CENTER><H3>
<A HREF='/spg1menu.html'>TEST</A>
</H3></CENTER>
<script language="javascript">
function mailpg(subject) {var mail_str="mailto:an_email@somewhere.com?subject="+subject+location.href ; location.href=mail_str;}
</script>
<CENTER>
TEST<BR><BR>
<A HREF="javascript:mailpg('0011XHRRB')">Approved</A><BR>
<A HREF="javascript:mailpg('0044XHRRB')">Not Approved</A><BR>
</CENTER>
</BODY></HTML>

If I request this as a webpage, then click on either Approved or Not Approved
it works fine. An email comes up, with the subject as expected.

However, If I email the code as an HTML email, when you click on either
the Approved or Not Approved, no email box comes up, instead it opens
a browser window with "javascript:mailpg('0011XHRRB')" in the address field.

is there a way to have an email startup from an Emailed HTML page?

I can't use links because the machine where this page originates can not
accept HTML traffic, only emailed traffic.

I tried using mailto as the FORM action, but I couldn't set the subject
which varied upon which choice was clicked.

Any suggestions?
