    Internet Explorer Outlook and JavaScript

    Hi everyone!
    I'm currently working on an html newsletter and wanted to spice it up with a customized TicTacToe game from dynamicdrive.com. It works perfectly fine in the IE but somehow Outlook isn't able to interpret the following JS-code:

    <td width="55"><a href="javascript:setbutton(11)"><img src="nothing.gif" border="0" name="rc11"></a></td>

    Instead of executing javascript:setbutton(11) it opens an IE window with javascript:setbutton(11) in the locationbar...
    Any idea how to bypass this?
    Thanks for your help!

    change this:
    <a href="javascript:setbutton(11)"><img src="nothing.gif" border="0" name="rc11"></a>

    to this:
    <img src="nothing.gif" border="0" name="rc11" onClick="setButton(11)">

    you may well have to go through and change all the links in your program. i am aware there is a problem working with <script></script> tags in outlook 6 and outlook express 6 - in that they don't! (Microsoft's security something or other - they reckon it be more secure not to allow them) - there are also other tags, <embed></embed> tags etc.

    hope this helps

    Hmm.... somehow it won't work... perhaps you (or someone else) could have a look at the whole source code to be found at

    Thanks!

    Put the game on a website and just put the link in the newsletter. Because of abuses you're going to find very few people will even let html render in their newsreaders much less let javascript run. Using a link to a website makes it available to all your users.
