    scroll bar existance in IE5+

I have a universal page footer defined in a DIV.

The very last line in my web pages sets the value of the DIV to be absolute or relative.

When multiple rows are returned from a database the contents of the columns could dynamically make the row height change due to word wrapping in any given column.

In the past we tediously tried to count rows and if the rows were less than a given number plus a fudge factor, we would set the DIV to relative or absolute (where absolute would position the DIV at the bottom of the webpage)... with no browser/webpage scroll bar active.

The web pages do not make use of frames.

I feel if I can question if the scroll bar exists or is active in the browser/webpage I could determine without counting rows and with out fudging the height of the rows when to declare the footer DIV to be absolute or relative.

    Thanks -Ron

This appears to be more of a CSS issue rather than a javascript issue. Either way, we would need more info. A link or example code for instance. But have you tried bottom:10px ?
