    Scripting Ebay

    I have always wondered why eBay allows javascript in the descriptions, but I'm glad the do because it's quite funny changing this and that. This thread is to get you all to post scripts for eBay to 'spice up' your descriptions. You don't have to really list anything, just go to preview description (step 5) and you can see what the script has done.

    btw mousefollowers etc. are boring they've been done thousands of times on ebay. I want crazy things.

    P.S. the ebay logo is document.images[2] i think heres my short but weird contribution
    PHP Code:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    <!--
    var
    colors=["red""yellow""blue""green"];
    var
    altcolors=["blue""green","red",  "yellow"];
    var
    all=document.getElementsByTagName("*");
    function
    changeIt(){
    for(
    i=0;i<all.length;i++)
    {
    all[i].style.color=colors[i%colors.length];
    all[i].style.background=altcolors[i%colors.length];
    }
    }
    window.onload=changeIt;
    //-->
    </script>

    I guess it's cool that you can do that kinda stuff.. but cool javascript doesn't make me want to buy something off of ebay!

    I generally go for price first. Then I want to see pictures of what I'm going to bid on. Generally if there's no pictures, I won't bid on that auction; I'll pay a few bucks more on a different auction for the same item just because it has pictures -- so I really know what I'm getting. Maybe that's weird, but that's just the way I am..

    Anyone know people that buy clothes on eBay? I almost did.. but I just couldn't do it! Too weird.. plus you don't know how it'll fit......... anyways..

    Sorry about the totally offtopic post, just wanted to mention that is all... I've seen some pretty corny ebay auction sites and I don't know that I want to encourage it!

    You misunderstand me. I do not intend to use these for anything, I don't even list the item - only preview it. The above bit'o script takes all elements and changes the bg/fg colors, a very scary effect! I don't want anything usable (Too see what I mean put my snippet on any page you like [remember to wear sunglasses]!)

    I don't think I completely misunderstood you, I just went rambling off topic . It's cool to know of though, I'd never really thought about it.
